Job description

For the next expansion step, 3Brain is looking for a Senior Engineer or Director of Development and Production. The ideal candidate has the industry experience and is now ready to make a career step up into leading a small team of talented female and male engineers. She/He will join the management team to ensure corporate objectives are met and will lead the embedded device development team as well as supervise the production of 3Brain’s systems. The successful candidate will have a passion for learning on the job and a commitment to creating products that make a difference. She/He will help plan and design the future products of 3Brain and work closely with our chief of engineering.

A non-exhaustive list of responsibilities includes:

  • Lead the design team from the definition of product architecture to its design and implementation.
  • Coordinate and manage the R&D teams, including electronics, firmware, mechanics and production teams.
  • Plan milestones and budgets for development and production.
  • Manage and optimize the production and its processes.
  • Communicate with external R&D partners, suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Develop and coordinate production testing.
  • Monthly, quarterly KPI results and gap consolidation.

Required Qualifications

  • MSc/PhD in Electronics with 7+ years of industrial experience in modern FPGA-based or Microprocessor-based embedded system design.
  • Expert understanding of mechanics and electronics processes and workflows and co-integration into a product.
  • Expert understanding of production-related processes and workflows.
  • You must be a detail-oriented, self-motivated and enthusiastic engineer capable of working well under deadline situations.
  • Great team spirit, outstanding personality, recognized for high technical skills and strong will to lead a group of engineers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative, independence and ability to communicate and work effectively with other team members in a multicultural and international environment.
  • Fluency in English.

Additional Qualifications

  • Fluency in German.
  • Firmware design (C/VHDL).
  • Knowledge of Matlab and/or Python.
